Dr. Maureen Markle-Reid shared the objectives of a five year
program of research led by herself and Jenny Ploeg, School of Nursing, Faculty
of Health Sciences, McMaster University. The Principle Knowledge User is Dr.
Debra Bournes, Provincial Chief Nursing Officer, Ontario Ministry of
Health. Research will be carried
out in Ontario and Alberta by an experienced interdisciplinary team of
investigators, scientists and clinicians, advised by patients and families, and
supported by senior health system decision makers.
“Objectives/Proposed Activities: The aim of this research is to promote optimal aging at home
for older adults with multiple chronic condition (MCC) and to support family
caregivers. To this end, the
program will design new and innovative community interventions to improve
access to health care, health related quality of life and health outcomes,
while reducing.”
